In this year’s 2018 NAACP Image Awards, Damien Escobar’s most recent album, Boundless, was nominated for Outstanding Jazz Album. The annual NAACP Image Awards is known as this nation’s leading and most distinguished multicultural awards show from an African American point of view. The event recognizes and applauds the remarkable achievements and performances of “people of color in the arts, as well as those individuals or groups who promote social justice through their creative endeavors.” Damien was honored to not only partake of, but experience the atmosphere energized by such prestigious and influential people in this celebration of black excellence.
